History

The Tri-County Heritage Club had its beginnings with the Ilderton Centennial celebrations in July 1976.  A group of volunteers organized an historical agricultural display on the fair grou1nds for this event.  After the celebrations were over, those involved held a meeting to determine if they should form an organization to host a similar event each year.  There was enough enthusiasm to make application to become a chartered non-profit organization.  On March 25, 1977 the Charter for the Tri-County Heritage Club was signed by Sidney B. Handleman, Minister of Consumer and Commercial Relations.  On May 26, 1977 the club’s official Letters of Patent for Incorporation were signed and the club officially appointed its Officers.  An agreement was reached with the Ilderton Agricultural Society and the Township of London to use the Ilderton Fair Grounds and Arena to hold an annual show on the second full weekend in July.  This arrangement has continued.
